My husband died from familial CJD on December 20, 2007. I am devastated losing him at age 64 when we had just begun our retirement years together. If someone else has lost their husband and would like to be able to share the experience, feelings, grief, etc., please send me an email. Thank you!

I know this is a difficult site to visit especially if you have had a loss to CJD or have a loved one facing a suspected CJD diagnosis. Thank you for posting and for also offering support to others. I need to ask for your help. I am a staff volunteer with the Foundation and also share a loss to CJD, my dad in April 2000. I assist the Foundation in the collection of information on our CJD victims by administering a questionnaire to families. Our goal is to learn important information that may lead us to answers. We hope to be a valuable repository as research continues. Your input will greatly assist us in all our efforts. Please participate in our questionnaire and contact me at tracieked@gmail.com to do so. Sending thoughts and prayers, strength and hope, and many thanks in advance for your help. Tracie

My father in law was diagnosed over a week ago. However, he had been having symptoms for over 9 months. This is so difficult on the family to see someone go downhill so fast. It is difficult to wrap your mind around this disease..
